The West Georgia Health Foundation was created in 2004 as the charitable entity of West Georgia Medical Center with the purpose of enhancing community relationships and developing charitable resources to support health and wellness initiatives benefiting our region.
For almost 80 years, WellStar West Georgia Medical Center has served as the cornerstone for exceptional health care services for west Georgia and east Alabama. To achieve this role, we have continually invested in facility improvements, new technologies and services designed to improve the health of our community. While we have succeeded in bringing these leading-edge improvements to our community, patient revenues cannot fund all of these needs. As a result, the West Georgia Health Foundation was created to accept private donations to fund urgent priorities of West Georgia Medical Center.
The West Georgia Health Foundation is currently requesting support for development of a Community Cancer Center to consolidate all WellStar West Georgia Health oncology programs into a single location — a place of healing and renewal — concentrating on a return to wellness and on survivorship.
