When an Emergency Strikes, We Stand Ready

Our emergency room is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to receive adult and pediatric patients who need immediate medical attention. A highly-trained trauma team of physicians, nurses and lab technicians is always available to administer top tier care for accident victims and patients with life-threatening illnesses.

Staffed with board-certified emergency physicians and a trauma-trained nursing staff, the Emergency Department at West Georgia Health treats approximately 60,000 patients a year. With nearly 33,000 square-feet, the department was designed to maximize comfort, privacy and efficiency.

Specifically, the Emergency Department offers:

  • Private treatment/exam rooms with doors, not curtains

  • 14 treatment rooms
  • 4 trauma rooms
  • 4 cardiac care rooms
  • Dedicated high-tech diagnostic imaging
  • A dedicated 16-slice Computerized Tomography scanner
  • 4 isolation rooms
  • Direct access to Operating Rooms
  • A decontamination room
  • 7 private family lounges
  • A children's play area
