Meet Our Team

Our team at WellStar's West Georgia Medical Center Bariatrics stands ready to help you throughout your weight loss journey. You will have frequent contact with the members of our team, including Rachel Hand, RN, MSN: MaryLois Calhoun, director of Bariatric Services; Lindsey Perkins, nurse manager of Surgical Services; Tracy Gynther, vice president and chief nursing officer; Misty Wolfe, nurse manager of the surgical floor; Patsey Pinkard, charge nurse of the surgical floor; and Cheryl Allen, registered pharmacist of the surgical floor.

Tracy Gynther, RN 
Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer
Tracy received her Nursing degree from the LaGrange College School of Nursing in 1990 and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of West Georgia in 2015. An employee of West Georgia Medical Center for 22 years, she oversees all nursing operations throughout West Georgia Medical Center.

Misty Wolfe, RN
Nurse Manager of Surgical Floor 
Misty received her Nursing degree from Southern Union State College. She began her nursing career with West Georgia Medical Center in 1995 and was honored as WGMC's Nurse of the Year in 2015. With 20 years of experience, Misty enjoys challenging her team to learn new procedures and processes, such as our Bariatric program. She challenges her staff to provide high quality care to our patients. She leads the way in WGMC’s core measurement requirements and receives optimum results. Her team received the Top Performing Hospital Award by the Studer Group for always managing our patient’s pain and communicating with our patients about their medicines. Misty enjoys leading our Bariatric unit due to the impact it has on our patients. She finds it truly rewarding to witness life-changing experiences, and follow these patients throughout their journey.

Patsey Pinkard, RN
Charge Nurse of Surgical Floor 
Patsey graduated from Southern Union State Community College with an associate's degree in nursing in December 2001. She began her nursing career with WGMC  in January of 2002. With about 13 years of nursing experience, Patsey continues to enjoy learning new procedures and watching nursing service evolve. She enjoys patient care and takes pride in knowing that even among all the changes in healthcare, the southern hospitality and loving care of the staff at WGMC's always remains.

Cheryl Allen, RPh
Registered Pharmacist of Surgical Floor
Cheryl, who received her Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia, oversees the pharmaceutical care of patients on the surgical floor.
