Hospital Flu Visitation Policy
Hospital Visitation Policy
Influenza (flu) season is here. WellStar West Georgia Medical Center is implementing these precautionary measures to protect our patients, families, visitors and staff from unnecessary exposure to the influenza virus. We appreciate your help and cooperation in reducing the spread of flu.
- For the safety of our patients, we highly recommend that children 16 years and younger avoid visiting the hospital unless they are being treated or visiting a new baby sibling.
- If family circumstances require a child to visit the hospital, staff may request the child's temperature be taken to prevent the possible spread of flu or other childhood diseases. If the child has a temperature of 100 degrees or more, we respectfully request the child not visit.
- People with flu-like symptoms (fever, aches, sore throat, cough, etc.) are not permitted to visit.
- It is also recommended that people in poor health avoid visiting the hospital, as catching the flu could worsen their condition.
