Personal care is a hallmark of Florence Hand Home. Each resident has an individual care plan established on admission and the plan is reviewed quarterly with revisions as needed. Residents and families are encouraged to meet routinely with interdisciplinary staff and review the resident plan of care.
Staffing ratios exceed all government required and recommended guidelines to ensure that all residents receive quality care in a timely manner including assistance with such everyday activities as dressing, eating, mobility, hygiene and grooming.
Physical, occupational and speech therapy services are provided through WellStar West Georgia Medical Center with a physician’s order and are available onsite. A restorative nursing program provides additional follow up care when therapy may not be an option. Vision, dental and psychiatric services are available in house as needed.
Attending physicians make rounds at least monthly and are available to the nurse for consultation 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Residents may see other specialist with a consult from their attending physician. Recommended influenza and pneumococcal immunizations are provided on admission and annually per guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
